Applications are open for the Edinburgh Global Online Learning Masters Scholarships 2024/2025. The University of Edinburgh will offer twenty Masters scholarships for eligible part-time distance learning Masters programmes offered by the University.

  • Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees and will be tenable for the normal duration of the programme of study.

Eligibility

  • Scholarships will be available for students commencing any online part-time learning Masters programme offered by the University in session 2024-2025.
    • Note that only programmes of study that are at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Descriptor Level 11 are able to be considered for this scholarship.  Some programmes of study may have ‘Masters’ in their title but are at SCQF Descriptor Level 12, for example Master of Surgery (ChM), and are therefore not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Applicants must be nationals and residents of an eligible country.
  • Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.

Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the strength of a personal statement.  Priority will be given to those who have not had the opportunity to study at masters level previously.

Application

Applicants will be asked to include the following within their personal statement:

  • the specific elements of this programme that attracted you to the University of Edinburgh;
  • confirm how successful completion of this programme will benefit your career and personal development and
  • how this will enable you to contribute to your community/region or country?

In order to gain access to the scholarship application system, applicants must have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh. Note that, following the submission of an application for admission, it can take up to five working days for all system checks to be completed and for access to be granted.
